Biography
Prior to being a part of the ASUCQ family, Dr. Juárez was an instructor at other prestigious private universities in Mexico. She taught at Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Puebla and at her alma mater Universidad de las Américas, Puebla.

As a theoretical physicist mostly interested in black holes, she has been appointed as a member of the National System of Researchers (2016-2018) and is an active member of the Red Temática de Agujeros Negros y Ondas Gravitacionales (Thematic Network of Black Holes and Gravitational Waves).

She has published articles in peer reviewed journals on the uniqueness of Lifshitz black holes, black hole thermodynamics and the mathematical modeling of the human eye, and has been an invited seminar speaker in Chile, Brazil and the UK. She is committed to science communication and has a habit of visiting high schools to talk about the science and fiction behind black holes.

She is engaged to Dr. Gerardo Velázquez Rodríguez, with whom she shares a deep passion for science. In her spare time she likes to read, cook, swim, engage in creative writing and has recently taken on the challenge of learning ballet.
